Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am writing to ask you for your monetary gift to help in the continued success of the DCCR. The DCCR is the Diocesan Commission of Catholic Charismatic Renewal. The DCCR is a non profit organization dedicated to serving our Diocese, parishes and church through constant prayer, seminars, conferences and dedication to our Lord, Jesus Christ. We do not receive any funding from the diocese. A few of our outreach ministries include:

Hosting the annual Charismatic Conference in Panama City Beach, FL
Sponsor priests and deacons to the annual Steubenville Priest Conference
Holding days of Renewal within our Diocese
Masses to pray for healing
Citywide gatherings
Spirit of Life newsletter
DCCR website, www.pt-dccr.org, containing monthly events, teaching videos by Father Pathe and other pertinent information regarding the function of our DCCR

The impact of the Charismatic Renewal in the Church has been significant. The Renewal has nourished the call of all to holiness as a gift from the Spirit and helped the Church come to a greater awareness and expectancy of the Holy Spirit and the charismatic gifts of the Spirit. The Charismatic Renewal has led the people of God in a revival of the ministry of healing, encouraging laity and clergy to pray for the sick with faith and expectancy.

It has renewed the appreciation for the role of praise in individual and communal prayer and enriched the Church with many gifted musicians, music ministries, and songwriters. The Renewal has taught a commitment to the Pope, the Bishops, and to orthodox teaching. Vocations to priesthood, deaconate, and religious life have been fostered. It has called forth the gifts of the laity who are today serving in a variety of ecclesial lay ministries; e.g., in the liturgy, religious education, and youth ministry, and ministries for the transformation of the world. It has brought about a revival of scripture study and hunger and thirst for God's word.

We cannot continue to do this work of renewing the grace of Pentecost in the life and mission of the Church without the unwavering support of brothers and sisters like you who, through their generous donations, have become friends of the DCCR. Our annual Catholic Charismatic Conference is our biggest expense. Our upcoming Conference will be held in Panama City Beach at the Edgewater Beach Resort on January 8-10, 2010. The theme is from John 6:68 "Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life."

Guest speakers for our 2010 Charismatic Conference in Panama City Beach, FL will include:

Bishop John Ricard of Pensacola/Tallahassee Diocese
Fr. Eugene Pathe - Bishop Ricard's Liaison to the Charismatic Renewal of the Pensacola-Tallahassee Diocese
Tom Neal - Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Systematic Theology and a Graduate of St. Mary's Seminary

POPE JOHN XXIII's PRAYER: "Renew your wonders in our times, as though for a new Pentecost, and grant that the holy Church, preserving unanimous and continuous prayer, together with Mary the Mother of Jesus and also under the guidance of St. Peter, may increase the reign of the Divine Savior, the reign of love and peace. Amen."
